Fish Market Retail Attendant

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Fish Market Retail Attendant is responsible for checking out customers through the point-of-sale system, packaging and shipping their fresh seafood orders. Performs various customer service activities which include greeting and acknowledging all customers in a prompt and friendly manner and handling products with care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Supports a strong commitment to world class customer service and ensures a pleasant productive experience for all guests.

• Prepares, Vacuum packs, freezes, and ships fresh seafood.

• Manages all aspects of shipping, from when it leaves the building to arrival to the guest.

• Stocks and straightens shelves and seafood counter.

• Performs opening and closing of the Market.

• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of all areas of the Market.

• Keeps abreast of product knowledge.

• Completes orders for the Market.

• Understands and executes procedures for verifying guests' ability to legally purchase and consume alcohol.

• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in guest service

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Ability to work as a team

• Passion for guest service

• An attitude of flexibility and mindfulness about the team approach

• Ability to handle all required tasks around handling a cash register

• Ability to perform correct POS transactions, opening/closing duties, and accounting procedures as required

• Ability and desire to obey all local, state and federal laws

• Ability to work both fast and accurately

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• N/A

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Regular walking, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to stand for extended periods in high temperature environment

• Able to perform duties which include bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

• Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
