POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Technical Lead will support supplier and customer quality functions by ensuring accurate and compliant documentation for products and suppliers. This role will work closely with R&D, Operations Quality, Commercial, Procurement, and other teams to maintain standards for both internal and external requirements. The position is also responsible for maintaining corporate-level Quality Management System (QMS) documents and ensuring regulatory compliance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Customer & Supplier Quality:




  • Support quality functions for both supplier and customer documentation across assigned products and business units.





  • Manage requests for documentation, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory and company standards.





  • Perform hazard assessments and regulatory reviews for new raw materials, suppliers, and products.





  • Maintain and update product and supplier specifications in collaboration with cross-functional teams (R&D, Regulatory, Operations).





  • Lead the documentation portion of the New Product Commercialization and Change Control processes.





  • Assist with certification programs such as Kosher, Halal, Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified, RSPO, and Gluten-Free.




Quality Systems:




  • Maintain the corporate-level Quality Management System (QMS) library, ensuring all documents are current and accessible for auditing and regulatory review.




Leadership & Collaboration:




  • Provide support to Supply and Customer Quality teams across the organization.





  • Collaborate with internal departments and external suppliers to align on quality and regulatory requirements.





  • Manage projects from initiation to completion as required.



  • Escalate significant quality or regulatory issues to management and support incident resolution.




REQUIREMENTS:




  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, Business Administration, or a related field.





  • 5+ years of experience in food, feed, dietary supplement quality, or regulatory affairs, with experience in both supplier and customer quality management.





  • Experience with platforms like TraceGains or similar systems for supplier and customer quality management is a strong plus.





  • Project management and implementation experience are a plus.





  • Coursework or certificates in PCQI, HACCP, and US/foreign food regulations.





  • Strong computer proficiency, including experience with ERP systems, quality management tools, and document control systems.





  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.





  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.




WORK ENVIRONMENT:




  • Primarily office-based with occasional travel to Balchem sites and supplier locations.
