Brief Description:

Warrior is currently recruiting for a Sandblaster/Painter to join our manufacturing operations. The position involves working within a production team to produce painted parts that meet project requirements. Responsibilities include painting components according to specifications, drawings, or work orders, and ensuring proper preparation of components for the painting process.

This role reports to the Shop Manager.

Detailed Description



  • Painting components according to specifications, drawings, or work orders.
  • Ensuring proper preparation of components for the painting process.
  • Perform inspections on all painted/coated product.
  • Clean and prepare components for sandblasting, ensuring specific areas are masked to protect them from abrasion.
  • Set up and operate a variety of hand and power tools, machinery, and test equipment.
  • Regulate pressure and composition for sandblasting while operating and maintaining sandblasting equipment.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain spray guns and other necessary equipment.
  • Prepare paint and primers according to specified requirements.
  • Spray components uniformly with the appropriate amount of paint
  • Regularly inspect painted parts for runs, sags, and unpainted areas.
  • Determine color differentiation through various paint mixing techniques and ratios, ensuring accurate color matching and consistency in the painting process.
  • Perform tasks independently under the supervision of the Lead Painter and Shop Manager with the ability to suggest operational improvements when appropriate.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

  • Physical ability to:

    • Lift and carry fifty pounds independently while walking on uneven surfaces.
    • Bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and crawl occasionally during visits to the field and operational work areas.
    • Listen for unusual noises that signify equipment and or machinery problems.
    • Stay alert and focused including during occasional extended work periods.
    • Maintain spatial orientation and awareness to safely move around the work environment with many moving objects including overhead machinery.
    • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all designated times.

  • Uphold safety & quality standards & procedures.


Minimum Qualifications:

Assistant Painter/ Sandblaster:



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • State-issued driver's license and be eligible to drive a Company vehicle, including ability to meet requirements of Company's Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy


Painter/ Sandblaster 1:



  • High school diploma or GED
  • State-issued driver's license and be eligible to drive a Company vehicle, including ability to meet requirements of Company's Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy.
  • 2 + years Industrial Painting/ Sandblasting, Shop or Industrial Equipment maintenance experience or equivalent credits

    • Or 1+ year relevant oil and gas work experience in a maintenance, manufacturing, remanufacturing, repair, or field service environment of Industrial equipment.



Painter/ Sandblaster 2:



  • High school diploma or GED
  • State-issued driver's license and be eligible to drive a Company vehicle, including ability to meet requirements of Company's Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy.
  • 3 + years Industrial Painting/ Sandblasting, Shop or Industrial Equipment maintenance experience or equivalent credits

    • Or 2+ year relevant oil and gas work experience in a maintenance, manufacturing, remanufacturing, repair, or field service environment of Industrial equipment.



Painter/ Sandblaster 3:



  • High school diploma or GED
  • State-issued driver's license and be eligible to drive a Company vehicle, including ability to meet requirements of Company's Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy.
  • 5 + years Industrial Painting/ Sandblasting, Shop or Industrial Equipment maintenance experience or equivalent credits

    • Or 3 + years' relevant oil and gas work experience in a maintenance, manufacturing, remanufacturing, repair, or field service environment of Industrial equipment.



Lead Painter/ Sandblaster:



  • High school diploma or GED
  • State-issued driver's license and be eligible to drive a Company vehicle, including ability to meet requirements of Company's Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy.
  • 7 + years Industrial Painting/ Sandblasting, Shop or Industrial Equipment maintenance experience or equivalent credits

    • Or 5 + years' relevant oil and gas work experience in a maintenance, manufacturing, remanufacturing, repair, or field service environment of Industrial equipment.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Vocational or technical training Trade School Degree
  • Oil & Gas equipment blasting, coating & plating experience:
  • Warrior equipment, Top Drives, Mud Pumps, Iron Roughnecks, Automated Catwalks, Power End
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (purchasing/inventory/sales/work order management software)


Additional Details:

This position requires the person to work in both office locations and outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including precipitation, cold / heat, high wind, and turbulent conditions. The Technician will be occasionally exposed to the typical conditions of the local area where the drilling operations and rigs are located. The Technician must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties. Also, must be able to work closely with others and under deadlines including time-sensitive response situations and be willing to work extended schedules that will include working days, and occasionally nights, weekends, and holidays.
