The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs a workforce of approximately 2,700 staff, represented by 15 collective negotiations agreements, and is responsible for institutional strategic initiatives and operations, which encompasses an expansive range of comprehensive service and business operations across the State of New Jersey. These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations. |
Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Employment Relations Coordinator for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). Reporting to a supervisor/manager within Employee Services, is responsible for administering complex HR functions, and act as liaison to Payroll & Timekeeping and One Source for Leaves and Benefits. This includes, but is not limited to staff recruitment, benefits administration, payroll,
RIAS/
HCM administration, and administration of collective negotiations agreements and University policies, for a diverse staff of approximately 3,200 employees.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Assists with resolution of routine and non-routine issues that arise in the daily department HR operations. This requires an understanding of state and federal laws, University policies and procedures.
- Executes employment processes in confidential manner to include background checks; physical exams, offer letter and onboarding.
- Manages administration of the following systems: HRIS, Timekeeping, I-9 records, Rutgers Onboarding and Recruitment Systems (ROCS) and the Absence Reporting System (ARS) for the Institutional Planning & operations division.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, organization, coordination, facilitation, bookkeeping and/or report writing.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience with Timekeeping systems, Personal Systems and Work Order Systems highly preferred.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to employment and employee benefits preferred as well as familiarity with union agreements.
