Job Summary

Are you looking for an internship where you can make meaningful contributions while learning a lot and havingfun? At Daylight Solutions you'll get to work on projects that impact the business. Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as a laser and optical integration engineer for laser systems ranging from early concepts to productprototypes to initial production units
  • Hands-on skill in optical instrumentation and metrology
  • Design, build and test novel laser cavities and laser-based systems
  • Develop detailed alignment procedures and create robotic scripts to automate alignment of laser systems
  • Hands-on experience in the development, prototyping, testing or transfer to production of complexSoftware/Optical/Mechanical systems
  • Use Zemax to design and tolerance laser and optical systems
  • Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments
  • Carry out basic work instructions that will help in understanding the fundamentals of the Company and alsolearn new things
  • Conduct limited scope testing under the supervision of engineers
  • Complete assigned tasks on time
  • Gather and assemble data for engineers
  • May be required to help in research in a particular field
  • Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers
  • Assist engineers with appropriate design details
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Engineering student; some progress towards engineering degree
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
  • Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn
