QA Technician / Specialist Position Summary: The QA specialist is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of phone & accessory packaging during inbound and ongoing production. Responsible for ensuring parts are inspected and reported, this includes testing of product at different phases during development to mass production phase to ensure quality standards and customer requirements are met. This involves performing visual/ functional testing of packaging materials, data reporting, and planning processes to decrease the instances of defects in products. This role includes setting up quality systems, conducting audits, and managing relationships with internal teams, vendors, and third-party suppliers. The QA specialist will also create, review, and modify work instructions to ensure they align with internal changes and evolving quality standards. The specialist will work closely with internal and 3PLs and well packaging team, is expected to maintain communications for quality-related concerns and/or alignment with related departments. Responsibilities:
- Oversee quality inspections for materials and parts used in new product packaging for phones and accessories.
- Perform required testing preparation/execution activities to ensure product quality throughout the production phases.
- Troubleshooting and reviewing logs/queues and assisting in investigating the causes of non-conforming products/processes.
- Responsible for ensuring the data is collected at each stage of the process.
- Responsible for validating production defects related to DIT/DIP (Damage in Process/Damage in Transit).
- Ensure quality standards are met during the production, packaging, and production phases.
- Works with quality engineer and third-party packaging vendor to meet quality KPIs and assist in improvement activities.
- Conduct onsite audits, collaborate with departments, and assist in implementing quality improvement.
- Create and review detailed work instructions for inspection processes.
- Modify work instructions as needed to respond to change notifications and updates in quality requirements.
- Provides product audit checklists for the introduction of new models.
- Maintain accuracy documentation and ensure compliance with client and customer standards.
- Perform data entry, review quality-related data, and generate reports to track trends and issues.
- Create charts and visual reports to present quality trends, defects, and corrective actions.
Requirements:
- Prefers a Bachelor's degree or equivalent 3-5 years of job-related experience.
- Proficient in MS Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience auditing internally and third to ensure process controls are in place and adequate.
- Background in the wireless industry is a significant advantage.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance and inspection processes.
- Ability to identify defects and lead quality improvements.
- Strong analytical skills for tracking and improving quality metrics.

- The ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with multiple levels within the company and with external contacts including customers, authorized service agents, sales & equipment service representatives, etc. Must be able to influence others in acceptance, and approval and to provide technical clarification.
- The ability to gather and analyze data from multiple sources, prepare spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and tables of information, and plan and prioritize multiple work assignments.
- The ability to read, write, provide critical technical reviews, and prepare reports, technical manuals, test procedures, and technical product information.
- Work under very little supervision and guidance to identify and ensure the achievement of company, customer, and team goals and to complete individual work assignments within established time frames.
- The demonstrated ability to solve problems involving highly diverse conditions requires creativity to search for solutions among learned things. Exposed to situations where only broad and general guidelines for solving problems exist. Job duties require analysis and judgment of functional practices and daily experiences to be used to determine appropriate courses of action.
- Requires domestic business travel up to 20% of the work time.
- Operate PC and product test equipment more than 50% of work time in an alternating sedentary and highly mobile position.
- Lift, move, or adjust general test equipment, boxes, supplies, materials, or products weighing up to 50 pounds using proper materials handling equipment and procedures.
- High level of visual acuity, numeric/character distinction, and moderate color distinction for accurate test equipment operation, for information analysis and error recognition.
- High hand/finger dexterity with fine motor coordination skills to perform electronic component repair work.
- Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids are representative and commonly associated with the electronic component test, assembly, and repair work including test equipment, testing devices, technician hand tools, cables, etc; first aid kits are available and prescription safety glasses are required in certain test areas.
- Under general supervision where general policies govern, daily activities are only sometimes monitored and performance is measured by effective results. Errors are difficult to detect and may adversely affect outside relationships. Access to sensitive confidential data such as product performance data, and disclosure may have serious internal or external effects.
