What this job involves - We are looking for an Industrial Cleaner to join our team in Kansas, City, KS!
Work Schedule: 2nd Shift Monday through Friday, 4:00pm to 12:30am What is your day to day? Client Service Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stem cleaning, shampooing or vacuuming. Gather and empty trash and recycling. Service, clean, and supply restrooms. Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. Operate riding floor scrubbers, vacuums, sweepers and carpet extractors. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees. Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications. Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors. Clean and restore building interiors damaged by fire, smoke, or water, using commercial cleaning equipment. Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks. Mow and trim lawns and shrubbery, using mowers and hand and power trimmers, and clear debris from grounds. Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals. Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings. Spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation. Any and all other duties and tasks assigned. Physical work requirements and work conditions - Stand and walk for prolonged periods. Regularly lift, move and/or carry up to 10 pounds; Frequently lift, move and/or carry up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift, move and/or carry up to 50 pounds. Perform overhead work often while balanced standing on a ladder. Bend, kneel, twist and reach to get to areas difficult to access and/or confined areas like closets, crawl spaces, attics, etc. Trunk Strength - The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously. Flexibility - The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs. Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Static Strength - The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects. Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Desired experience and technical skills Required Cleaning Expertise: Proficiency in various cleaning techniques and procedures, including knowledge of cleaning products, tools, and equipment. Attention to Detail: Being meticulous and thorough in cleaning tasks to ensure high cleanliness standards and avoid overlooking any areas that need attention. Time Management: Efficiently managing time and prioritizing tasks to complete work within established schedules. Physical Stamina: Possessing the physical endurance to handle long hours of standing, repetitive movements, and lifting heavy objects. Organizational Skills: Ability to maintain cleanliness and order while managing multiple tasks and responsibilities. Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and customers to understand their needs and provide assistance. Customer Service: Displaying a friendly and helpful attitude when dealing with customers or residents, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their satisfaction. Adaptability: Ability to work in different environments and adapt to changes in work schedules or tasks as needed. Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety procedures and the ability to adhere to established guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment. Problem-Solving Skills: Being able to identify and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise during cleaning tasks or while working with customers. Confidentiality: Maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of guests, residents, or clients and respecting their personal space. Product Knowledge: Familiarity with different cleaning products, their proper usage, and any safety guidelines associated with them. Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate basic instructions. Frequent walking, bending, lifting, stooping, squatting, and kneeling required. Must have the ability to lift at least 50 lbs. Preferred Experience with Forklift or Electric Tugger a plus. |
