Position Overview:

The Content Writer and Editor ensures that all marketing materials-whether print, digital, or online-are aligned with the brand's voice, messaging, and style. By overseeing both traditional and digital assets, the editor guarantees consistency and cohesion across all channels, including brochures, emails, stories, newsletters, magazines, and website content.

For digital content, particularly website materials, the editor plays a key role in restructuring and optimizing pages to enhance user engagement and SEO performance. This includes auditing and refining web copy to align with the site's structure, ensuring an updated content calendar throughout all media outlets.

Additionally, a content writer and editor conduct comprehensive reviews to ensure all marketing pieces are current, factual, accurate, and reflect the latest brand standards. This quality control process ensures that all communications are professional, error-free, and strategically tailored to meet the needs of both digital and traditional audiences.

Please note: This position is in-person at one of our residential campus locations (Daytona Beach, Fl or Prescott, AZ). This position is not remote or hybrid.

Key job functions include:

Content Creation and Editing

  • Write, edit and proofread high-quality content for the website, landing pages and marketing materials.
  • Ensure consistency in brand messaging, tone and style across all digital and print platforms.
  • Develop engaging and conversion-focused copy across all content pieces. Support the development of pieces such as brochures, degree pages, newsletters, one-pagers, postcards, magazines, presentations, among others.

Content Development

  • Collaborate with different teams to develop content that aligns with all Enrollment Marketing and Digital Strategy Department initiatives.
  • Create a content calendar for web updates, blogs, degree pages and ROI materials.
  • Identify content gaps and suggest areas for development, focusing on SEO and customer journey.
  • Implement keyword strategies and regularly update content based on performance analysis.
  • Suggest SEO performance metrics improvements.

Content Management

  • Maintain and improve the user experience by working closely with web developers and designers.
  • Conduct A/B testing for headlines, landing pages and marketing copy to optimize for better performance.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in content creation, editing, or marketing roles

Required skills, knowledge, abilities:

  • A strong academic foundation in writing, linguistics and critical analysis
  • Clarity, precision, and creativity in content
  • Extensive training in grammar, rhetoric and stylistic nuances
  • Hands-on experience with content management software like Microsoft Office 365, Canva, and AI tools
  • Familiarity with marketing tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Mailchimp)
