Job Summary:

The Environmental Monitoring Technician I is accountable for driving results in fast-paced environment by performing monitoring of the pharmaceutical manufacturing environment and utilities in compliance with cGMP and internal SOPs. The Environmental Monitoring Technician must be detail-oriented and possess organizational skills with a large quantity of data.

On-Site Expectations:



  • 100% on-site position.
  • 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm.


Responsibilities:



  • Perform sampling of air for viable and non-viable particle counts along with contact surface testing.
  • Perform sampling and testing of facility gases and water including pre-treatment, USP and Water for Injection.
  • Manage the incubation of samples, plate reading and reporting of results.
  • Ensure required testing documentation is complete and generated with adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Escalate to management any failures and concerns related to environment of controlled spaces.
  • Support work associated with generation and revision of SOP, writing of investigations/ deviations, and data trending reports.
  • Assist in sustaining of the laboratory safety and cleanliness by maintaining inventory, disposal of waste and routine cleaning of laboratory rooms and equipment.
  • Perform peer review and verification of raw data.
  • Assist in receipt and log in of in-process samples.
  • Perform additional duties as required and assigned by management.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent with minimum of 4 years of related experience or BS with 0+ years of experience.
  • Strong customer service focus and excellent customer contact skills.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work independently, along with ability to work well within a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Prior experience with LIMS is desired but not required.


Travel Expectations:



  • Up to 15% travel to clients is required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock, burn hazards and microbial contamination. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment for specific job duties to be performed. Such personal protective equipment may include, but not limited to safety eyewear, various types of respirators/breathing apparatus, lab coats, full protective body coverings, various types of gloves, etc.
