Primary Purpose of the Position

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for making sure materials are supplied to where they are needed in a timely manner. They are responsible for processing orders, maintaining the stockroom, and providing for the proper care and storage of aircraft parts.

Essential Functions:



  • Establish and maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels.
  • Monitor and maintain shelf-life limited materials.
  • Review and maintain paperwork, including but not limited to, manufacturer traceability and parts tags to ensure compliance with the Repair Station Manual and Federal Aviation Administration requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate calibrations and checks are made on the tools and equipment used by the Repair Station.
  • Ship and receive materials as required.
  • Report any identified risks associated with the Parts Department to the Chief Inspector.
  • Assist in the development and revisions of logistics policies and procedures as needed
  • Communicate professionally and effectively employees, customers, vendors, and the FAA as required.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Perform job duties in a safe manor.
  • Punctual to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 2 years of aviation logistics experience.
  • Proven track record of consistent performance while delivering high levels of customer service to internal and external customers is required.
  • Demonstrated record of integrity and sound ethical judgment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to professionally communicate with customers and vendors.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience at an airline or MRO strongly preferred.



Reports to: Director, Maintenance

Supervisory Responsibility: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

FLSA Status: This position is nonexempt.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers. This position requires various tasks performed in all types of weather conditions.

Travel: This position requires no travel.

Physical Requirements: Physically able to perform frequent walking, sitting, stooping, stretching, bending, reaching, and grasping actions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions including extreme heat and cold. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
