Job Summary Assist faculty in the classroom in a professional manner with the following tasks: taking attendance, distributing handouts, and tests, collecting tests/papers; setting up technology in the classroom (turning on/off the projector, lowering and lifting the projector screen, switching the projector between different devices); troubleshooting minor tech issues (like getting under the desk to connect a cable or power cord); erasing whiteboards before, during, and after classes; helping return the classroom desks to their original positions after class; helping divide the class into pairs/groups/teams; retrieving Chromebooks from the Chromebook cart, distributing them to students, collecting them at the end of class, and plugging them in the appropriate slots for storage and charging; must be available to work as early as 8 AM on either Monday and Wednesday OR Tuesday and Thursday; maintaining confidentiality. Additional Information In order to qualify for a Federal Work-Study (FWS) job, a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be on file for the current award year and have eligible financial needs based on the college requirements. Desired Qualifications Communication Skills, the ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Bilingual helpful (Arabic or Spanish). Computer Skills-should be familiar with how to use computers effectively, must be familiar with publisher materials such as MyEnglishLab and MyELT, as well as word processing, Canvas, e-mail, and desktop publishing applications, and strong customer service. The ability to be professional and helpful even during stressful situations is critical. Dependability and professionalism are key desired skills.
