Overview

VTG is seeking a team of Telecommunications Technician 3 supporting Navy in efforts that will include ISP/OSP cabling and premise cabling repair or replacement of existing ISP/OSP cabling where the existing infrastructure does not meet the minimum requirements of the standards, codes and instructions at the Navy Base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.


What will you do?

  • Site Surveys. Provide data from ISP/OSP surveys that assist in establishing requirements for corrective maintenance of the information technology infrastructure based on current EIA/TIA standards. Assist engineering department in developing and designing local projects to include Master Plan budgetary matrix.
  • Conduct surveys and provide all required data that assists in establishing requirements for correctional maintenance of the base infrastructure. Provide data to include locations of new outlets along with redlined Installation Design Plans (IDP's) for complete premise cabling repairs in all facilities requested by the customer.
  • Technical Services and Engineering. Attend meetings and site surveys as directed. Develop Statement of Works (SOW)/Performance Work Statements (PWS) for ISP/OSP layer 1 projects as directed to support/capture customer requirements in accordance with applicable standards and codes. Develop engineering installation design plans, cost estimate to include calculate man-hours for assigned projects to meet assigned mission.
  • Provide Bill of Materials (BOM) and/or provide/Identify the ability to facilitate the purchase of Government Furnished Material (GFM) and Government Furnished Tools (GFT) .
  • Provide data from building surveys that assist in establishing requirements for correctional maintenance of the base infrastructure. Provide data to include locations of new outlets along with redlined IDP's for complete premise cabling repairs in all facilities requested by the COR and the customer.
  • Provide general support in operations, repair, and maintenance functions as directed by the customer.
  • Provide post-repair "redlined" Installation Design Plans for the buildings associated with required tasks.
  • Provide completed, legible deliverable documents to include copper and fiber test results of all installed infrastructure.

Performance Requirements. The Contractor shall provide the following support. The following build-out clarifications are used to determine the scope of work on named tasks:

  • Minimum compliance with the most current version of ANSI/EIA/TIA Standards as well as all other directives that will be followed on all work performed under this effort.
  • Adhere to all federal and local safety standards and regulations. Adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), National Fire and Safety Code, and National Electric Code safety requirements.
  • Based on Bill of Materials (BOM) provide/identify both new locally procured and new stateside procured installation materials/equipment for replacement or repair of existing infrastructure as well as new installation requirements.
  • Provide Data From Building Surveys. Provide data from building surveys that assists in establishing requirements for corrective maintenance of the base infrastructure based on standards
  • Provide completed, legible deliverable documents to include copper and fiber test results of all installed infrastructure.Provide digital "soft copy" test results in accordance with of the standards, codes and instructions.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Minimum number of 10 years of documented experience in installation/maintenance of telecommunications industry standards-based cabling distribution systems
  • Must be familiar with and be able to reference current ANSI/TIA/EIA Standards.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
  • Other Cabling Industry certifications or Industry training classes/seminars
  • Must be willing to relocate long term to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BICSI Certification (Installer or Technician), preferred
  • BICSI RCDD Certification, preferred
  • Active Top Secret clearance, preferred

Pay Range: VTG's estimated starting pay range is $35.00-$38.00/hour, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
