Summary of This Role
Manages all activities related to preparation and filing of US federal and state income tax returns and quarterly estimated tax payments. Responsibilities include managing the activities of our compliance co-source partner, preparing complex book-to-tax adjustments, managing the R&D tax credit analysis and determining the impact of tax legislation. Provides oversight and support to compliance function team members. Participates in quarterly and annual income tax provision workstreams and supports special projects, such as process improvement initiatives and assessment of US tax implications of acquisitions.
What Part Will You Play?
- Oversees and manages the responsibilities for timely and accurate filing obligations related to U.S. Federal and state income taxes. Reviews estimated tax calculations and ensures payments are submitted timely to mitigate penalties. Ensures supporting documentation is complete and can be retrieved for audit, review, and legal purposes. Forecasts cash tax payments for use by Finance personnel.
- Manages and supports the tax compliance team, ensuring an accurate, complete, and timely work product. Drives engagement of team members to team members through training and regular staff meetings. Performs HR duties such as goal setting and evaluations. Ensures opportunities for training and cross-development are made available to team members.
- Prepare complex book/tax difference calculations such as equity compensation, partnership allocations, debt issuance costs, opening balance sheet for acquisitions, and gain/loss on sale for dispositions.
- Monitors and stays abreast of tax related legislative, legal and regulatory changes regarding U.S. federal and state income taxes.
- Responds to tax notices as needed, and supports audit defense for the company as income tax audits arise.
- Oversees project management on significant tax projects with outside consultants. Including managing relationships with internal team members, and acting as a facilitator between the consultant and the team members.
- Participates in the quarterly and annual income tax provision process, including current tax calculations and income tax return-to-provision true-ups.
- Maintains the various tax programs/systems that are used by the tax team. Assists other team members with renewals, licenses, system updates, etc., and monitors for new releases and product add-ons.

What Are We Looking For in This Role?
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Relevant Experience or Degree in: accounting, finance or related degree or qualifying certification (CPA, CMA, ACA, CIMA, ACCA Certification)
- Minimum of 10 years related professional experience including 3-4 years' experience in a supervisory position
- In depth experience required in corporate income tax compliance. Preferred experience with partnership tax concepts.
- Expertise in ONESOURCE Income Tax, with excellent excel skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Big 4 accounting and/or public company experience
- Master's Degree (MAC, MST, or MBA)
- CPA/CMA or other relevant certification
- Alteryx workflow skills
