Overview

We're seeking a Pharmacist Program Manager Informatics to join our team! In this role, you'll enhance pharmacy services by leveraging automation, interoperable systems, and clinical device integration to optimize medication management and improve medication safety. Key responsibilities include designing innovative processes for automated systems, leading initiatives to integrate clinical devices with pharmacy systems, and collaborating with clinical, operational, and technical teams to identify technology-driven improvements.

Location: Ability to work remote- Must reside within IA, IL, or WI and be able to be onsite periodically.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Develop, deploy, and monitor system safeguards to prevent medication errors, including barcode medication administration, infusion library, and smart pump interoperability utilization and compliance.
  • Participate in designing and implementing interoperable pharmacy systems that integrate with the enterprise-wide EHR (Epic).
  • Perform data analysis to identify needs for new technologies, equipment, or system enhancements to improve patient safety or clinical care/outcomes.
  • Educate pharmacy staff on complex medication safety systems, including the EHR, automated dispensing cabinets, robotic dispensing systems, and smart infusion pumps.
  • Manage large-scale implementation projects for the EHR, automated pharmacy systems, smart infusion devices, clinical decision support, etc.
  • Collaborate with informatics, IT, and clinical teams to facilitate integration of pharmacy systems with other clinical applications and devices.

Qualifications

What You'll Need:

Education:

Required: A graduate of an approved College of Pharmacy and possesses a Doctor of Pharmacy or BS degree in Pharmacy.

Preferred: Master's degree in health informatics, information science, or other relevant graduate degree.

Experience:

Required: PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and two years of practice experience or five years of pharmacy practice experience.

Proficiency in navigating the electronic medical records.

License/Certifications:

Required: Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.

Must maintain current license to practice pharmacy in designated State and be in good standing with the State(s) Board of Pharmacy Examiners.
