Job Description

Amcor is currently searching for individuals to join our Batavia production plant!

SHIFT SCHEDULE:

Training typically on days 7am-3pm

Post training 12hr 4-3 Schedule Straight Nights

STARTING PAY:
$38.56/hour + $2/hour shift premium !

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Certified Electrician position is responsible for Installing and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems. Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers. Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing devices. Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

* Facilitate and enforce all the company safety policies and procedures as they are outlined and defined.

* Provides daily maintenance for the plant, performs mechanical, electrical, and preventive (PM) maintenance functions.

* Responsible for the maintenance work in emergency break down situations.

* Participates with maintenance and manufacturing supervision in establishing priorities for routine maintenance assignments.

* Provides daily electrical maintenance, repair and installation of equipment.

* Provides technical advice to machine operators and manufacturing supervisors on matters relating to equipment modifications and time estimates on maintenance repairs.

* Must be able to document changes to electrical drawings.

* Assists as requested in the layout, installation, movement or dismantling of plant equipment.

* Assists in inventories of needed maintenance parts and tools to keep manufacturing equipment running efficiently.

* Must have strong knowledge of general operation of the machine functions and their capabilities to assist the machine operators.

* Must be willing to work in a team environment with other associates as well as be self-motivated when working alone.

* Electrical service Technician needs to maintain knowledge of National Electrical Codes for proper installation and protection of electrical equipment.

* Knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, wiring schematics and electrical symbols

* Knowledge of Aims / SAP is plus

* Performs other related duties as assigned.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU

* 1 year prior electrical experience working in a manufacturing environment.

* Good computer skills

* Must have the ability to work in a team-based environment, assist others when needed and lead by example while focusing on safety, quality and productivity.

* Must believe in promoting a positive culture within the facility focused on pride, ownership and accountability

* Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis

* Required to stand, sit, squat, bend, walk, lift (as noted above) and climb frequently throughout the day on a daily basis

* 100% of working hours are spent in a manufacturing production environment with the majority of that time spent standing, walking and moving around the machine to operator manufacturing equipment.

* Personal protective equipment is required at all times

* Ability to quantify results, identify new opportunities, adapt to change and interface with all levels of management
