KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the manufacture of consumer foods which comply with all food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Understands and supports company and site safety policies and performs work related activities in a safe manner. Recognizes unsafe work conditions, coaches peers, and suggests new safety standards as appropriate
  • Manages parts counter, locates, and checks out parts.
  • Assists customers in finding parts
  • Provide assistance to technicians, coordinators, and technical leaders
  • Ensures all parts are checked out accurately and have associated work orders when needed
  • Follows and enforces storeroom processes to optimize spare part inventory
  • Receives daily deliveries, ensures delivery accuracy, enters receipts into ERP software, labels and puts away replenishment parts
  • Processes parts returned to the storeroom
  • Identifies inventory inaccuracies, can troubleshoot, and resolve
  • Identifies high risk part outages and escalates as appropriate
  • Assist customers in obtaining emergency parts
  • Manages storeroom locations and transfers item locations as needed
  • Update part lead times in ERP software
  • Identifies part description discrepancies, can troubleshoot, and resolve (e.g., Multiple part numbers for same part, multiple parts for same part number, etc.)
  • Maintains spare parts database by updating incorrect item descriptions, part numbers, etc.
  • Follows up on delivery dates for outstanding purchase orders
  • Runs parts reservation reports and kits parts to work orders for upcoming planned work
  • Completes weekly cycle counts
  • Runs inventory reports
  • Move large parts and pallets with a forklift - will need to become forklift certified
  • Conducts daily housekeeping procedures in the storeroom and maintain 5S areas to standard
  • Other duties as assigned

SELECTION CRITERIA

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience/Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2-3 years related storeroom experience required
  • A minimum of 2-3 years' experience with computerized inventory management software required
  • A minimum of 2-3 years inventory management experience required
  • A minimum of 1 year working with parts management required
  • Experience in working with industrial equipment parts preferred
  • Experience working in a large storeroom (over 2500 parts) preferred

Other

  • Willing to work 12-hour shifts and overtime as needed. Typical schedule is 6:00pm - 6:30am on a 2-2-3 schedule.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule as needed
  • Willingness to work off-shifts or weekends as needed
  • Able to read, understand, and follow documents such as safety policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and general instructions
  • Able to understand and carry out both oral and written instructions
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to give and receive feedback
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to provide excellent customer service
  • Able to work both independently and on a team
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and able to effectively multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated and can work accurately and independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Effective presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Builds effective relationships at all levels within the plant
  • Identifies improvement opportunities and implements change
  • Able to solve problems, handle stressful situations, and act with a sense of urgency
  • Understands technical systems and terminology
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications
  • Able to learn company specific computer systems
  • Able to perform the key responsibilities outlined above in accordance with safety standards and practices
  • Physical requirements of the job include the ability to:
    • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
    • Stand, sit, walk, enter confined spaces, push, pull, kneel, squat, and climb
    • Perform repetitive actions, reach, and feel

Internal Candidates:

This position is a permanent support role and not eligible for level increases through pay and progression.
