POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

As the Deputy Program Manager for the Base Operations Support Contract at NASA Ames Research Center, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the day-to-day operations of the Airfield and Facilities Support Services (AFSS) program align with NASA's priorities, performance goals, and budget constraints. This position requires a proactive leader adept at coordinating complex operational requirements, ensuring on-time, high-quality delivery of contract products, services, and deliverables, while achieving cost, schedule, and quality objectives. You will have full delegated authority to act on behalf of the Program Manager (PM) during their absence.

This opportunity is for a POTENTIAL CONTRACT award and is contingent upon the contract being awarded. Consideration for a potential contract may require a signed letter of intent. If the contract is awarded, another position posting will be available on the Company Careers portal.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)



  • Ensure that day-to-day operations align with customer objectives, adhering to contractual performance standards, schedules, and budgetary guidelines.
  • Oversee and verify the on-time, high-quality delivery of contract products, services, and deliverables, consistently meeting performance benchmarks.
  • Implement effective budget management practices, maintaining strict adherence to cost objectives, and delivering quality results.
  • Manage the transition of new missions into operational phases, ensuring seamless integration and continued service excellence.
  • Establish and maintain clear, effective interfaces across departments to respond efficiently to evolving requirements and fluctuating demands.
  • Represent the Program Manager with full authority in their absence, leading team efforts, addressing challenges, and ensuring uninterrupted program continuity.


Estimated Pay Range:$140,000 - $160,000 per year

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business management.
  • 15 years of experience with a BS/BA or 13 years with an MS/MBA, with at least 10 years in a specialized capacity.
  • Specialized experience should include managing multi-task contracts and/or subcontracts of varying types and complexities.
  • Expertise in project lifecycle management, from initial planning to deployment, including the management and control of resources through advanced reporting mechanisms.


Preferred Qualifications or Skills



  • Master's degree in engineering or an MBA is preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead projects from inception to deployment with a deep understanding of funds and resource control using complex reporting systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in budgetary and financial oversight on large, multi-faceted contracts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly address issues and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for building effective interfaces across diverse teams and stakeholders.
