Position Overview

Position Summary
Under general supervision, responsible for all aspects of managing and directing a NCAA Division II women's soccer program including but not limited to recruiting and coaching of student-athletes; monitoring student-athletes academic achievement; managing budget; coordinating travel arrangements for team competition; program planning and forecasting; fund-raising.

  • Coordinating travel arrangements for team competition
  • Directing soccer camps
  • Fund-Raising (Departmental and Program specific)
  • Program planning and forecasting
  • Leadership development
  • Managing social media accounts
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of demonstrated successful coaching experience required. Master's degree and college head coaching experience preferred
  • Familiarity with the Lone Star Athletic Conference preferred
  • A valid New Mexico Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment is also required, as well as the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in all kinds of weather and road conditions.
  • Successful applicant may be required to obtain a CDL passenger bus license endorsement within one year of employment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division II by-laws, rules, regulations, and a demonstrated commitment to compliance. Must become NCAA recruiting certified
  • Demonstrated coaching skills and mastery of the sport of soccer
  • Knowledge of progressive teaching and coaching pedagogy including organized practice plans that are routinely well implemented
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with student athletes
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable sports and playing rules.
  • Candidate must be able to work as a team member and be self-directed and be willing to serve as good will ambassador for ENMU Athletics
  • Proven leadership in the successful fulfillment of soccer coaching responsibilities including; soccer strategies; coaching skills; recruiting; individual and team camp operations; fiscal management; fund-raising; organizational/administrative leadership; public relations; sound judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well in a highly fast-paced environment and be a team player with the athletic department and the University.
  • Successful applicant must be of good moral character with conduct consistent with the University and state code of conduct



Working Conditions

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed during regular work hours, but will require frequent evening and weekend hours and frequent traveling
  • Work performed both inside a non-smoking facility and outside with extremes of cold and hot temperature changes, wet and humid conditions.
  • May have exposure to blood-borne pathogens
  • Work is medium in nature that at times requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
