Make your mark at the world's largest HVAC company Daikin Applied is seeking a Benefits Manager responsible for leading the operations, administration, and governance of all employee benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Location: Hybrid - Plymouth, MN What you will do:
- Leads the administration of US and Canadian benefit and retirement programs
- Ensures administrative and legal compliance with health, welfare, leave of absence, 401(k), nonqualified plans, deferred compensation, and retirement investments
- Works with broker on analysis of benefit plans and recommends plan design and vendor changes
- Manages benefit administrators responsible for the day-to-day administration of benefit programs, ensuring a high level of customer service and timely response to inquiries
- Oversees the process of benefit earning/deductions
- Implements new programs and processes
- Serves as a point of contact for benefit related questions; counsels employees to ensure understanding of all health and welfare benefit programs, policies, and eligibility
- Manages the 5500 filings and all benefit related audits and compliance requirements with plan amendments and plan documentation
- Responsible for coordinating benefit and retirement committee meetings
- Manages the annual open enrollment process working closely with Broker and outside vendors
- Leads benefit open enrollment meetings, assisting in developing presentation materials, and ensuring that all employee health and welfare enrollment elections are processed accurately in our HCM and vendor systems
- Monitors benefit administration system to ensure system is functioning as programmed; communicate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve benefit administration system issues; perform system testing for Annual Enrollment and other system updates
- Provides timely and accurate benefit reporting for internal and external partners
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field
- 5+ years benefits experience and/or training
- 3+ years of experience managing direct reports
- 401K experience
- Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs
- Knowledge of federal and state legislation and regulations regarding health, welfare, and retirement benefits
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, pivot tables, data format/sort/filter, VLOOKUP
- Understanding and knowledge of retirement plans including 401(k) and deferred compensation plans
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with individuals at various levels within the organization and with external vendors
- Time management skills; manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while completing work within allocated time frames
Preferred Qualifications
- International benefits administration and communication experience
- HRIS / Payroll systems knowledge, Workday preferred
- Merger, acquisition, and divestiture experience
- Certified Benefits Professional (CEBS/ CBP) designation
