The team
The Platform organization is at the forefront of developing cutting edge technologies to improve the customer's experience with personalized and automated end-to-end digital journeys, that enable Maersk customers to access standardized products and services seamlessly. The Platforms help enable Maersk's vision to be the Global Integrator of end-to-end ground freight logistics, connecting and simplifying customers' supply chains. Additionally, the team creates the foundation to integrate data, systems, and processes, powered by scalable Digital Infrastructure and APIs.

The role
The Maersk Ground Freight Organization is looking for a Platform Product Owner with experience working with Oracle Transportation Management to closely work with our customers and internal stakeholders to design and shape the platform to support Ground Freight business and subsequently drive the development from a Product Owner capacity with the scrum team(s).

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive and define Maersk's Ground Freight's product vision, strategy, and value proposition collaboratively.

  • Engage with customers to understand needs, pain points, and business objectives.

  • Own the scrum team's backlog, prioritizing user stories, features, and epics.

  • Manage customer relationships, tracking success, analyzing trends, and fostering quality engagement.

  • Handle internal stakeholder and dependency management, collaborating across different product teams and platforms.

  • Contribute to engineering and architectural discussions for technology outcomes and strategies.

  • Spearhead, plan, and report ongoing work in relevant forums and communities.

  • Enable new or improve existing Platform features related to dynamic rating, pricing

  • Accountable for ensuring that these solutions are integrated so they contextually make sense in the overall e2e process for different brands, entities, and products

  • Accountable for a smooth and efficient system handling of the financials. This includes the design of functionality such as:

    • Supplier invoice processing including goods receipt and invoice matching

    • Settlement and calculations of vendor transport in the system,

    • Month end closing including reports and dashboards,

    • Integrations between Oracle TMS and other systems to ensure correct and real-time information flows

    • Requirement understanding from business users, Functional Product Owners and convert them into features/user stories that elucidate business needs in clear and simple manner for engineers to understand.

    • Ensure our solutions can easily be reused across other platforms, while promoting a standard, global template

Who you are?
Most important is your personality and desire to drive and evolve customer facing software products with an ecosystem mindset. Structured but at the same time a person that has an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit. Besides that, a university degree in a relevant field and many years of experience in product ownership/management. As a person you have an interest in both tech and business and the potential opportunities in that intersection. You are used to taking ownership, building relationships and can communicate and manage stakeholders on different levels. Having an owner's mentality is vital for this role with an outstanding ability to coach, lead and encourage others.

Great to have

  • Good understanding of Logistics and Services, particularly Freight Brokerage, and TMS products and processes

  • OTM (Oracle Transportation Management) implementation experience or similar

  • Ability to apply agile and logical techniques for creating user stories and acceptance criteria

  • Ability to build and enhance complex products

  • Ability to take ownership of complex and important products, and make effective choices

  • Skilled in seeing the journey from End-to-End perspective.

  • High degree of organization, personal initiative, and personal accountability

Salary:

Pay Range: $180,000 - $190,000 USD*

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
