ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Provide exemplary customer service to exceed customer satisfaction.
  • Project and maintain a positive attitude and composure at all times.
  • With a focus on customer service, effectively communicate verbally while making public address announcements, performing safety demonstrations, and providing instructions, timely informational updates, and write detailed reports.
  • Interact professionally with a wide variety of people from a broad range of cultures.
  • Answer customers' questions and provide assistance when necessary, particularly to individuals needing special assistance (such as unaccompanied minors, individuals with special needs, and the elderly).
  • Provide customer service assistance such as lifting, transporting, and stowing luggage into overhead bins or storage areas.
  • Perform all work activities in accordance with established standards, policies, laws, and regulations, including Federal Aviation Administration regulations. Respond effectively during emergency situations. Provide emergency medical assistance (e.g., performing CPR and basic first aid) to assist individuals in distress.
  • Ensure the aircraft and customers are in full compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and safety guidance.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, and meals containing peanuts, beef, port, and/or seafood, as well as receive and process payments for purchased items.
  • Act as an accurate and courteous source of information for passengers, taking immediate steps to initiate service recovery when needed.
  • Assist passengers and fellow crew members during emergency situations, effectively implement instructions from the flight deck crew, and follow Omni established emergency procedures.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team to accomplish work tasks.
  • Work in confined spaces with exposure to the following: nuts, animals, latex gloves, perfumes, cleaning solvents, fumes, dust, pet dander, etc. Individuals with allergies must have the ability to effectively manage allergies in accordance with onboard service standards to perform job responsibilities in this environment.
  • Perform required pre-flight and security checks, reporting any discrepancies to the Purser.
  • Provide special assistance to passengers, including stowing luggage in overhead compartments, emergency medical aid, and assist disabled passengers.
  • The work involves travel in an aircraft under pressurized conditions and airport operations environment.
  • Maintain professional appearance and compliance with uniform and appearance guidelines at all times.
  • Ability to be dependable, flexible and committed to reporting on time and completing work assignments.
  • Manage time to complete required work assignments and to ensure overall punctuality.
  • Adjust work activities to adapt to changing work conditions, such as scheduling changes or charter service requirements.
  • Administratively responsible to the Inflight Supervisors/Managers, and functionally responsible to the Purser of the flight to which the Flight Attendant is assigned.
  • Comply with the laws, regulations and procedures of those States in which operations are conducted.
  • Comply with all authorities that have jurisdiction over operations that are conducted over the high seas or within a foreign country.
  • Operate mechanical equipment and safety equipment to include but not limited to: stairs, oxygen systems, aircraft doors (pushing and pulling), evacuation slides/rafts, fire extinguishers, galley equipment, communications equipment, and lighting systems.
  • Be engaged and informed on all company and departmental communication to ensure the latest updates are understood and implemented.
  • Communicate in writing to complete paperwork and detailed reports regarding incidents and/or discrepancies.
  • Perform other such duties assigned by the Purser or Inflight Management.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Ability to acquire and keep current a passport and travel documents to freely enter and exit all international destinations serviced by Omni with no impediment preventing entry.
  • Ability to report to work at your assigned base within two (2) hours.
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent. BA/BS college degree preferred or a combination of education and related experience.
  • Ability to use computers and work with a basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and able to complete all required paperwork.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours when needed.
  • Ability to work scheduled flight duty periods of 20 hours or more, and deadhead travel periods of 26 hours or more
  • Ability to work variable blocks of duty days each month and 19 or more continuous days away from base at any time including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Test negative on an FAA mandated pre-employment drug test, and on subsequent tests under the Omni drug and alcohol testing policy applicable to employees occupying safety sensitive position.
  • Must pass a 10-year Background check including a FAA required fingerprint-based criminal history records check
  • Must be willing to comply with necessary pre-employment checks mandated by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
  • Meet established standards, policies, laws and regulations including Federal Aviation Administration Regulations.
  • Must attend and successfully complete Omni Flight Attendant training.
  • Ability to open emergency exits and close aircraft doors weighing up to 60 pounds and use of a food/beverage cart requiring 32lbs of force when pushing or pulling.
  • Stand/Walk more than 2/3 of flight time, sit less than 1/3 of flight time.
  • Lift overhead up to 60 lbs
  • Ability to reach above shoulder level into overhead bins and retrieve stored items which can be as high as 74" from the floor.
  • Embraces a diverse set of people, thinking and styles.
  • Work in aircraft aisles and galleys, and while standing, reaching (extending in front and to the side of the body and above the head), walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, and working in cramped or awkward positions. Walk and fit comfortably down the aircraft aisle while facing forward, and fit quickly through any exit.
  • Hear and respond to customer and crew communications in situations with high background noise.
  • Willingness to accept assignment to any Flight Attendant base after graduation from training, as dictated by the needs of the operation.
  • Flexibility to relocate or commute to and from your assigned base location.
  • Must physically be able to it in assigned jump seat with seatbelt, and shoulder harness fastened.

  • Ability to make quick decisions which impact the department's credibility, and services reacting in a positive manner during unexpected and/or serious situations
  • Ability to complete routine forms, use existing form letters and/or conduct routine oral communication
