Research Library Internship Summer 2025

Reporting to the Library Services Specialist, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of library outreach and community engagement practices by developing effective outreach strategies tailored to a special library environment. You will create compelling promotional content to engage a diverse user base. You will also organize events to foster community and knowledge sharing. As an intern, you will enhance user education skills to empower patrons in using library resources efficiently and collect and analyze data to improve outreach efforts.

This team works a 9x80 schedule onsite at the Idaho National Lab Administration Building.

• Undergraduate or Graduate student enrolled full time at an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Library Science or Library Information Science.
• Experience or coursework in Communications (writing - presentations - editing), Research Library or Project Management.
• A minimum overall 3.0 GPA.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT).

• Undergraduate Internships ($25.65/hour - $30.70/hour)
• Masters Internships and PhD Internships Pre-Candidacy ($31.75/hour - $34.06/hour)
• PhD Internships Post-Candidacy ($33.75/hour - $36.06/hour)
• Eligible interns are provided paid holiday time off, and many of our internships offer travel reimbursements.
• Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on degree field and level of education.
