Open Rank Tenure-Track Faculty in School Psychology

Position Description

The Department of Counseling, Recreation and School Psychology (CRSP) at Florida International University (FIU) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, Open Rank (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor), tenure-track faculty position in School Psychology, to commence in the Fall semester of 2025.

Required Qualifications:

- An earned Ph.D. degree in School Psychology or related field (conferred on or before August 1, 2025) from a NASP-approved and/or APA-accredited program.

- A record of, or demonstrated potential for, excellence in scholarly activity as evidenced by publications, presentations, and/or external grant funding that is commensurate with rank.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Licensure or licensed-eligible as a psychologist and/or certified as a school psychologist in the state of Florida

- Successful teaching experience in university settings

- Active involvement and service in the School Psychology profession

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include establishing and sustaining a research and scholarship program by leading and executing research projects, publishing manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, presenting research at conferences, seeking external funding to support research activities, and building collaborative research partnerships that contribute to FIUs Top 50 ranking within their discipline. Faculty in the department teach at the undergraduate and graduate level in various delivery modalities, advise and mentor graduate students, and are expected to engage in service activities at the department, institutional and professional levels. Tenured and tenure-track faculty in the department typically have 45% research, 45% teaching, and 10% annual service load. The faculty member will also assist in the development of a Ph.D. program in School Psychology.

About the FIU School Psychology Program:

The Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) program in School Psychology, consisting of four full-time faculty, has been in existence since 1972, and is fully approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). The program is housed in the College of Arts, Sciences & Education (CASE), and within the School of Education and Human Development (SEHD).
