About the Job

Job Responsibility:

-30% Recruit clinical research populations to participate in clinical research projects involving treatment, neuroimaging and neurobehavioral testing. Determine eligibility of research subjects, conduct interviews, administer cognitive training and brain stimulation, and perform neuropsychological testing as necessary.
-30% Collect, organize and process neurobehavioral and clinical data as directed by the senior staff.
-30% Coordination of research projects as directed by senior personnel.
-10% Prepare summary reports, attend conference calls, and attend research meetings.

The primary responsibilities of this position are:
1) Recruitment of clinical research populations;
2) Interviewing and conducting neuropsychological testing with children;
3) Administering cognitive training and brain stimulation;
4) Collecting neurobehavioral and clinical data;
5) Organizing collected data and communicating with other research sites;
6) Coordination of ongoing research studies;
7) Other duties as assigned. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a natural or social science discipline please at least two years of relevant experience OR a combination of education and relevant experience to equal at least six years.
*The position will require flexible work hours including some occasional (rare) Saturdays.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience administering psychometric tests; Experience with child clinical populations; experience in a research environment; database knowledge and experience.

About the Department

The Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) research program at the University of Minnesota has an opening for a full-time research coordinator / psychometrist. The position involves working on two NIH-funded studies of children and adolescents with FASD: a treatment study testing brain stimulation and cognitive training which also utilizes neuroimaging, neuropsychology, genetics, and 3D craniofacial imaging and a second clinical trial testing a novel nutritional supplement in preschool age children. The psychometrist/coordinator will administer neurocognitive tests to children, collect brain MRI data, administer cognitive training and brain stimulation sessions, analyze data, and participate in writing papers for publication. The position will also involve aspects of study coordination including participant recruitment, screening, diagnostic interviewing, scheduling, and data management. Comprehensive training will be provided, but some prior experience in a psychology lab and/or administering cognitive tests to children would be a plus. This position provides an opportunity to work with a small, highly-active research group on a set of exciting multi-disciplinary clinical research projects using cutting-edge methodology.
