Responsibilities
In your job, you will have the ability to make a difference in a patient's journey by:
- Answer incoming calls and ask appropriate questions to assess a patient's needs.
- Coordinate mailing or emailing patient appropriate medical forms for completion prior to first visit; proactively follows-up with patients on missing or outdated insurance information as well as copies of medical records and test results from other providers.
- Obtain patient demographic, insurance and other pre-visit required information; enter patient information into computer systems; verify patient's insurance eligibility and benefit coverage/co-pays with payer; verify pre-authorizations are completed prior to patient visit.
- Provide patients with necessary appointment details including time, location, directions, and any pertinent instructions; record call statistics in new patient log; maintain and update physician schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly; work in conjunction with the triage nurses to accommodate scheduling requests.
- Schedule new patient appointments with appropriate provider.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum three (3) years medical experience as a receptionist or other front office administrative position.
- Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft (Outlook, Word, and Excel) required.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Associates degree in Finance, Business or four years revenue cycle experience preferred.
- Knowledge of this practice's personnel, daily routines, and scheduling a plus.
- Demonstrate Adaptability: Handle Day to day work challenges confidently; willing and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities; demonstrate flexibility.

The safety of our patients and staff is our top priority. Masks may be requested in all Arizona Oncology facilities regardless of vaccination status. COVID vaccination is recommended.
