Overview
The Writing Center seeks to fill a vacancy for fall, spring, and/or summer semesters on the Uintah Basin Campus. The successful applicant will be expected to perform both face-to-face tutoring as well as on-line live tutoring via http://distance.usu.edu/tutoring/.

Responsibilities
  • This position involves helping students become better writers.
  • This position will require successful applicants to work an average of ten to twelve hours per week as Writing Center peer responders.


Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of English 1010 and 2010.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as a desire to read and respond to student writing assignments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must be familiar with (or willing to learn) on-line tutoring interface.
  • Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision.
