What we are looking for

SCS Engineers is looking for a mid-level geologist to work with SCS' Carbon Sequestration and Deep Well Injection practice. This dynamic team of geoscientists and engineering professionals is looking to match the anticipated growth of our nationwide practice with the growth of our team. You would be contributing immediately to exciting work in assessing and developing underground injection control projects from feasibility studies to drilling and completion activities. Our program handles subsurface projects from Class I wastewater injection wells to Class VI carbon sequestration complexes and other well classes in between. Additional opportunities will include projects related to critical minerals and mining projects. A mid-level geologist will have a background in geologic research, analyzing well logs to create deep stratigraphic and structural models, ability to interact with clients, and technical writing skills. This position has room for advancement to the Project Management level and offers flexible working arrangements that can be located at many offices around the mid-west as a hybrid employee.

You can make an impact by:

    Interpreting geologic data, performing technical analysis, and writing reports.
  • Ensuring quality control standards are met for reviewing, modeling, and reporting activities.
  • Applying advanced knowledge of modeling software for geologic interpretation.
  • Assisting with well design based on client and regulatory requirements.
  • Reviewing and utilizing Federal and State-issued guidance and regulations for UIC projects.
  • Producing technical reports that meet agreed client and company standards.
  • Working cooperatively to develop drawings, reports, and permit applications.
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Working in a hybrid home and office environment.
  • Being willing to travel for fieldwork, meetings with clients, and attending industry-related conferences and trade shows.


Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in geosciences or geology .
* Minimum of 3 years of geology experience with project execution .
* Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.
* Familiarity with geological modeling software .
* Professional Geologist license (or ability to obtain) preferred.
* Experience in multiple North American basins and varied depositional environments preferred .
* Familiarity with the Federal Underground Injection Well program preferred .


Pay Range

USD $65,000.00 - USD $80,000.00 /Yr.
