Responsibilities
Summary The Health Educator provides healthcare education to the facility population and assesses healthcare needs, develops educational programs, and performs targeted healthcare education interventions. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- The Health Educator plans, implements, monitors, and evaluates health education programs.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare team members to assess and determine health education needs.
- Develops plans and programs to achieve health education objectives and monitors the progress.
- The Health Educator facilitates health education presentations and provides educational materials.
- Prepares progress, status and other reports on a timely and required basis.
- Collaborates with community organizations that promote health education.
- Provides the facility population with access to health education resources.
- Maintains current knowledge on health issues and current trends.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- An Associate degree in Nursing.
- Valid Registered Nurse licensing in the state that the position works in.
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred.
- Proficient in collecting and analyzing data and formulating objectives.
- Proficient in developing education materials to promote health education initiatives.
- Experience coordinating and directing activities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Assertive, yet motivating style.
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
