As aSPIFF Solution Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in driving the sales process by combining your technical knowledge with your communication and interpersonal skills. You'll work closely with our Sales team, prospective customers, and existing clients to understand their commission-related challenges and demonstrate how Spiff's platform can solve them. Your primary goal will be to ensure that prospects see the true value of our solution and understand its potential impact on their organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-Sales Support: Partner with Account Executives to understand customer requirements and craft tailored solutions that showcase Spiff's capabilities. Prepare and deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and customized proof of concepts.

  • Technical Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of Spiff's product offerings and the technical aspects of sales commission automation. Serve as a technical advisor and product expert to prospects and customers throughout the sales cycle.

  • Solution Design: Work with customers to identify their commission management needs, providing guidance on best practices and strategies for implementing Spiff within their organizations.

  • Collaborative Engagement: Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to address customer-specific requirements, feedback, and questions, ensuring the Spiff platform meets or exceeds expectations.

  • Problem Solving: Diagnose potential technical challenges and proactively develop solutions to support successful product adoption and onboarding.

  • Customer Relationship Building: Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers, building trust and ensuring a smooth transition from sales to implementation.

  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest product developments, industry trends, and competitor solutions to provide strategic insights to customers and internal teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Sales Engineering or similar role, ideally within a SaaS, FinTech, or enterprise software environment. Experience in sales commission, finance, or a related domain is a plus.

  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of SaaS platforms and cloud technologies; proficiency with APIs, CRM systems (Salesforce experience preferred), and data integration tools is desirable.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to simplify complex technical information for a variety of audiences.

  • Sales Acumen: Experience working in a sales-driven environment, with a focus on exceeding targets and supporting complex sales cycles.

  • Problem-Solving Ability: Proven analytical skills with a solution-oriented approach; capable of quickly identifying technical challenges and proposing effective resolutions.

  • Team Player: A collaborative mindset with a focus on supporting and driving cross-functional efforts to close deals and deliver client success.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with sales commission structures, performance incentives, or financial calculations.

  • Experience working with agile methodologies and/or familiarity with commission automation solutions.

  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-growing, high-energy startup environment.

Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance and the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring, Salesforce will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. For Colorado-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $107,800 to $144,270. For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $118,650 to $158,690. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
