The Plumber - Journeyman troubleshoots repairs, maintains, installs and services all plumbing, gas and steam systems and equipmentwithin Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO).

Shift:EVENING - Monday to Friday 3:00pm-11:30pm

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION - High school diploma or equivalent.
  • EXPERIENCE - Two years' experience as a licensed Journeyman Plumber.
  • EQUIVALENCY - Four year apprenticeship will be accepted in place of trade school certification.

Master Plumber license will be accepted in place of Current State of Colorado Journeyman.

  • CERTIFICATION(S) - Four relevant year trade school certificate.
  • LICENSURE - Current State of Colorado Journeyman license.
Responsibilities

POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE

No direct patient care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

  • Arranges for and procures mechanical drawings, permits, and inspections as required by codes.
  • Assures compliance with regulatory and legal building codes, related to hospitals and all other facility related requirements.
  • Documents, inspections, repair, and other technical activities according to departmental policies and professional standards of practice.
  • Maintains records on completed repair work.
  • Ensures that safety procedures are observed.
  • Estimates time and material costs for projects; forecasts materials needs; may order supplies and equipment.
  • Extracts data from sources such as blueprints, engineering orders, reports and specifications. -
  • Installs, maintains and repairs sinks, showers, toilets, water heaters and other plumbing fixtures.
  • Installs repairs and replaces piping and fittings for oil, gas, water, steam, air, heating and plumbing lines, and systems for equipment such as compressors, pumps, and boilers.
  • Maintains current backflow device and medical gas certifications.
  • Oversees activities of design consultants and contractors. Participates in the planning of construction/renovation process for facilities and acquisition process for building systems equipment

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $56,130.04 to $84,195.06
Hourly Salary Range: $26.99 to $40.48
