What this job involves - The Water Sampling Associate is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Team in water sampling and testing activities within commercial buildings. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that water quality meets regulatory requirements and provides a safe and healthy environment for building occupants. The Water Sampling Associate will collect, analyze, and report on water samples from various sources within the building, and perform routine tasks to maintain water system integrity. What is the day to day? Collect water samples: Perform scheduled water collection from designated points within the building, including faucets, fountains, cooling towers, and other relevant sources. Conduct water quality tests: Utilize appropriate testing equipment and follow standard protocols to analyze water samples for various parameters, such as chlorine levels, pH levels, temperature, turbidity, and bacterial contamination. Perform routine quality checks: Conduct routine inspections of plumbing fixtures, piping, and water distribution systems to identify potential issues or deviations from established standards. Document and report findings: Record and maintain accurate documentation of all water sampling activities and test results in accordance with regulatory guidelines and company standards. Prepare reports summarizing findings and provide them to the Maintenance Team for review and appropriate action. Assist with troubleshooting and corrective actions: Collaborate with the Maintenance Team to identify and resolve water quality issues. Support any necessary corrective actions, such as disinfection procedures, plumbing repairs, or system adjustments. Maintain equipment and supplies: Ensure proper functioning and calibration of water testing equipment. Manage inventory and replenish supplies as needed. Compliance and health and safety: Adhere to all relevant health and safety guidelines and regulations during water sampling and testing activities. Follow established protocols and procedures to minimize personal and public health risks. Stay updated on industry trends: Keep abreast of industry advancements, regulations, and emerging best practices related to water quality and safety. Seek opportunities for professional development and attend training programs, as necessary. Desired experience and technical skills - Required Working knowledge of SOPs, EHS requirements, and application of cGMP/GDP Ability to Understand SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) HS diploma or GED equivalent Valid state drivers license Excellent English verbal and written communication skills Excellent computer skills, including a working knowledge of Word and Excel Proven record of superior internal/external customer service Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment and the ability to master new skill sets quickly Shift/Work Environment May be required to work overtime/Holidays to meet deadlines Required to work Saturday or Sunday Will be required to work in a clean room environment, utility yard, and office setting Ability to lift 20lbs frequently |
