How can you make an impact?

McGraw Hill is looking for a Chicago Public Schools Sales Representative in Chicago to join our fantastic Sales Team. Reporting to a District Sales Manager in our K-12 School Sales Organization, the Sales Representative will be responsible for driving and supporting K-12 Sales within the assigned territory of Chicago Public Schools.

***Candidate Must Live Within Territory or in the Chicago area.***

Sales Reps are experienced communicators who are highly organized, data-driven, and can quickly learn and leverage new technologies to maximize the impact of McGraw Hill solutions on educators and learners. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit - is willing to seek out, engage and close business all while working in a dynamic/complex environment. Intellectual curiosity and an appreciation for educational institutions are keys to success in this role.

This position is remote and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience either teaching or 2 years presenting/training Educational Resources in the PreK-12 space -Required
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal skills, superior communication, and time management skills
  • A customer service mentality with the ability to maintain calm presence in difficult situations
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment, adaptable to change, and with competitive spirit and passion to succeed
  • Capacity to think outside the box and problem solve independently
  • Demonstrated understanding of productivity software (Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis on Excel
  • A valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 75% of the time, with occasional overnight stays for company events
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel up to 75% of the time- by ground

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Working with Individual Chicago Public School's to identify curricular needs within each building as well as develop understanding and knowledge in the pre-K12 space, including fragile populations
  • Collaborate with dedicated Sales Development Representative on a daily basis - Facilitate meetings they schedule for you and conduct presentations and trainings for all core subject area products
  • Attain and surpass sales goal with the proven ability to "advance" the sale and build customer relationships to maintain and expand market penetration
  • Create and execute marketing and strategic territory plans, with excellent organization and follow-through. Prioritize customer base and ensure availability, visibility, and promotional activity with respect to that base
  • Develop and maintain customer profiles, build new contacts/customers, identify and influence customer needs
  • Communicate internally and externally to influence sales, marketing, and product development strategies and understand how the business industry generates revenue and be able to craft competitive solutions
  • Learn independently; conduct research, synthesize, and apply information from a variety of resources
  • Interact collaboratively with key stakeholders and internal partners, while supporting the growth and company climate within a tight-knit team and manage company resources, including the company-provided vehicle, company credit card and home office and computer equipment

The pay range for this position is between $62,000-$85,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
