Get to Know Your Team:

  • UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

  • The ECMO Specialist functions independently following standing ECMO orders and parameters while
  • under the direction of the ECMO Physician and ECMO APP.
  • This role involves providing expert care to critically ill patients, ensuring optimal functioning of the ECMO circuit, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Additionally, you will be actively involved in research, education, and precepting as part of the program's development.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist required

  • Respiratory Therapist license to practice in the state of Oklahoma
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an ECMO specialist in a critical care setting.
  • BLS
  • ACLS

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Active certification with the state of Texas upon hire only. Recertification upon expiration
  • Perfusion - Certified to practice as a Perfusionist by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree (preferred) in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited education program
