Job Purpose

This position is a key role on the leadership team of our Precision Machining and Integration facility. The purchasing manager will help us maximize cash flows, sales, and service levels. We are seeking an innovative and analytical candidate with deep expertise in global supply chain (metals/mechatronics) landscape.

The successful candidate will oversee and manage procurement operations, ensuring direct and indirect category strategies are implemented at the right total cost of ownership. The purchasing manager will have effective communication skills to foster strong supplier relationships.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities




  • Demonstrates a measurable reduction in year-over-year total cost of ownership for the goods and services being sourced without compromising quality and service levels



  • Develop and execute our sourcing strategy on critical raw materials, needed to support our annual operating plan (1-3 years)



  • Develop and maintain key relationships with suppliers to position Sanmina as the customer of choice



  • Develop contingency plans with well-defined risks & opportunities to allow us to mitigate supply disruptions



  • Leads the supplier qualification, RFP, supplier selection, contract development, implementation, compliance, and ongoing supply base management process



  • Drives supplier consolidation through engaging and supporting Division Procurement Operations to qualify preferred suppliers and migrate spend from incumbent, non-preferred suppliers





Education and Experience




  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field required



  • 5+ years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing and/or Project Management in a MRP manufacturing environment.



  • Excellent computer skills, including advanced experience in Excel and workbooks



  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills



  • Demonstrated track record of using Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques such as SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning)



  • Ability to balance short-term and long-term objectives



  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hard-working culture



  • Demonstrated track record of building a high performing team



  • Capable of working across all functions and levels of an organization



  • Prior experience of working in precision machining or semiconductor equipment manufacturing environments is essential.

Salary Range(annual): $115,000- $150,000 . Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
