POSITION SUMMARY:



  • The Accounting Manager reports to the Divisional Controller
  • Located in Cleveland, OH
  • Full-Time
  • Hybrid



As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Accounting Department. This includes establishing robust internal controls and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with TriMark Policies and GAAP. Your primary focus will be managing journal entry preparation, maintaining inventory accuracy and valuation, overseeing WIP revenue recognition, conducting balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. This role will also involve providing ad hoc account analysis, budget and forecast support, and business analysis as required by the business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Team Management:



  • Supervise and manage the general accounting staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.


Financial Reporting:



  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, meeting all corporate deadlines.
  • Prepare and submit financial statements, analysis, and commentary in collaboration with the Division Controller.


Inventory Management:



  • Maintain accurate inventory valuation and oversee variance deferrals.
  • Manage customer and vendor rebate processes and accruals.


Revenue Recognition:



  • Ensure accurate Project WIP revenue recognition and conduct project profitability analysis.


Compliance and Audits:



  • Support internal and external compliance audits and information requests.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with sales tax deposits and filings.


Process Improvement:



  • Focus on process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize accounting processes.


Financial Analysis:



  • Provide budget and forecast support as required by the business.
  • Conduct ad hoc account analysis to support strategic decision-making.


Communication and Collaboration:



  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.
  • Operate as a business partner and provide support to cross-functional teams.



COMPETENCIES:



  • Ability to manage accounting processes ensuring accuracy and compliance with required deadlines.
  • Maintain strict confidence regarding sensitive/protected information.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database tools.
  • Experience with ERP systems and the ability to develop a deep knowledge of the TriMark ERP system.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a results-driven mindset.
  • Keen focus on process improvement.



QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:



  • 6 - 8 years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing or distribution business, or equivalent Military or practical experience.
  • CPA designation is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Strong process improvement skills.
  • Team management and leadership experience.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.

Pay for this position will reflect the candidate's unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark's' benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
