Job Overview:

This position provides medical case management for assigned populations - i.e. employees of TriHealth in the speciality area of Workers' Compensation. This position may assume the roles of education, adminstrator, researcher, investigator and constultant. The primary focus of this position is to control/minimize the cost of workers' compensation claims while promoting optimal recovery and minimal lost work time of the injured employee. Also provides effective counseling of patients and recommendations for appropriate referrals and/or treatment alternatives as well as coordinates and monitors return to work consistent with physician recommendations through communication with patient's physicians and employee manager. Acts as a clinical role model for staff, demonstrating leadership qualities in all aspects of medical care and education.

Job Requirements:

Associate's Degree in Healthcare

Licensed in health care field

Computer literate

1-2 years experience Clinical health care field

Up to 1 year experience

Healthcare case management of occupational injuries, including Return to Work coordination

Job Responsibilities:

Collaborates with managers and employees to coordinate Modified Duty Program - facilitatesplacement into positions that meet employee restrictions. Monitors progress.

Communicates with TPA and monitor claims management - timely payment of fee bills and compensation. Ensures compliance with BWC requirements for self insured employers. Collaborate sand communicate with TPA to certify or deny claims, C9's, etc.

Promotes outpatient lactation through communicating information to patients about available services and products. Assesses patients for pumping needs and encourages patient to make a decision before end of business day to prevent patient disappointment due to pump rental not being available in later evening hours. Promotes breastfeeding support group.

Tracks injury trends and costs and provide meaningful information/reports to Occupational/Environmental/Safety and Risk departments. Cooperates with implementation of Safety Initiatives.

Maintains OSHA log following record keeping guidelines.

Complies with HIPAA privacy requirements regarding the transfer of personal health information in any form as it pertains.
