As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support multiple operations involved in the assembly of aircraft transparencies. You will cover all areas of Safety, Quality, Manufacturing Performance Improvement, Process and Capital Improvement, and Personal Growth. This is a fully onsite position based at our Huntsville, AL. facility and you will report to the Manufacturing and Process Engineering Lead. Key Responsibilities Provide frontline technical support to production teams. Reference technical documentation, analyze data, to resolve problems and provide direction. Be the local subject matter expert on assigned processes and equipment. Implement new technologies, equipment, materials, tools, processes, and procedures. Improve existing equipment and processes. Manage small-to-medium sized capital projects. Reduce scrap, downtime, and manufacturing costs. Increase process/equipment capacity. Modernize manufacturing processes by introducing automation capabilities. Reduce product variability. Improve data visibility, process safety, and capacity. Lead RCCA projects to identify and eliminate failure modes (especially scrap causes) from the manufacturing processes. Create and revise work instructions for manufacturing processes. Document experiments, Work closely with quality, design, product development, safety, analytical lab, operations, contractors, vendors, and other manufacturing engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes, product quality, and process safety. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related technical field. 2+ years of experience in technical manufacturing roles Familiarity with interpreting technical documentation, including drawings/blueprints, bills of materials, material specs, operating procedures, and equipment technical manuals. Process controls (PLC) and automation skills preferred Knowledge of RCCA tools and project management tools is a plus Experience with any of the following is a preferred: discrete manufacturing, glass processing, composite part layup, clean rooms, lamination, thin-film coatings, polymer films, aviation industry requirements/standards (AS9100), MIL spec standards, basic CAD/CAM, Minitab or similar statistical software packages, Six Sigma principles, ERP systems Must be a US Citizen #LI-Onsite Les grilles salariales et les avantages sociaux de PPG sont lies au lieu de travail ce qui nous permet de remunerer nos salaries de maniere competitive sur differents marches geographiques.
