Unit Bio:Are you passionate about delivering patient-centered care in a CARDIOVASCULAR progressive care Unit? The freedom to explore new cardiac and electrophysiology specialties and experiences in your nursing career awaits you at MMC. You will provide care for cardiovascular patients who have undergone PCI, Convergent Maize, Watchman, Atrial and ventricular ablationsas well as post STEMI patients. Cardiac nursing requires an unwavering commitment to excellence and a constant spirit of professionalism. Summary: Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) 1. Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Evidence of 10 hours of ongoing education per year. 2. License/Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Maine. Certification in relevant specialty preferred. 3. Experience: Meets all requirements of Clinical Nurse I. Completion of Level I usually achieved by 12 months of employment. Cardiac experience preferred. 4. Basic knowledge of the research base, theory, practices, principles, and processes of professional nursing. 5. Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. 6. Analytical ability sufficient to identify changes in patients' conditions and to initiate appropriate action. 7. Ability to identify potential crisis situations involving patients and/or families and to initiate appropriate action. 8. Demonstrates a caring nursing practice and promotes a healing environment for patients and families. 9. Demonstrates the required knowledge and technical skills to care for most patient populations on the unit.
