Pen Bay Hospital is currently seeking a full time Nurse Manager for the Special Care Unit to join their leadership team!

The Special Care Unit is an 8-bed ICU/Step-Down Unit, where nurses are responsible for conducting complex assessments and providing intensive therapies and interventions to a variety of patients. Nurses have the opportunity to care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory failure, cardiac events, sepsis, metabolic disorders, complex surgical recoveries, and more.

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible experienced Registered Nurses with 0-2 years of experience and $20,000 for experienced Registered Nurses with greater than 2 years of experience!

  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
  • Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates!

Summary:

The Nurse Manager role works collaboratively with the Director to manage the operations of the clinical services of the assigned nursing units. Responsibilities include managing resources (human, material, and financial), to ensure quality, cost-effective delivery of services for specific patient populations. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Recognized as a professional role model, promoting an environment that supports the goals, mission, vision, philosophy and values of the Division of Nursing Services and the Coastal Healthcare Alliance.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, BSN required or entry into BSN program within 6 months and completion within 2 years required. Master's Degree in Nursing or other health-related field preferred.

2. License/Certifications: Licensure as a Professional Registered Nurse in the state of Maine required. Current American Heart Association certifications in BLS and ACLS required. Emergency department requires PALS certification. Certification in nursing specialty preferred.

3. Experience: Three years of related experience required. Two years of supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
