Audit Director for a Public Accounting Firm for construction and real estate (CPA)

FlexStaff Is seeking an Audit Director to work for one of our clients, a full-service accounting firm, located in Bohemia, NY.

This is a permanent, full-time job.

In this role you will be work closely with the Firm partners to develop departmental systems and the firm growth, hire and train new staff, and to manage client relationships. Additionally, will serve a crucial position on many other client engagements and firm functions in a supervisory capacity

Requirements:

• A minimum of a Four-year Accounting degree from an accredited college/university is required.
• 10+ years of audit/internal audit experience in public accounting, preferably in construction and real estate.
• CPA licensure.
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, SSARS, and GAAS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Managing multiple client engagements, interfacing with the clients and keeping the audits on track;
• Serve a crucial position on client engagements in a supervisory capacity;
• Develop audit plans/approaches, testing strategies, etc. for each engagement in conjunction with partner and other staff members;
• Managing lower-level staff members on essentially all engagements;
• Conducting end of audit exit conferences with management for all internal audit engagements;
• Performing, with appropriate staff, risk assessments and risk assessment updates of each engagement on an annual basis;
• Review all reports prior to issuance;
• Assisting partners in presenting financial information to client governing bodies.
• Reviewing detailed working papers and providing feedback to staff members to assist in completing their audit responsibilities efficiently and effectively and provide on-going feedback to staff;
• Get involved in Firm development and growth through involvement in marketing activities.
