Description

Ensuring plant cleanliness in all aspects of production by:

* Developing, implementing, and maintaining all food plant sanitation training, programs, and cleaning procedures.

* Implementation and maintaining of Master Sanitation schedule.

* Monitoring waste water production and reduction.

* Ensuring compliance with production and industry standards.

* Execute and manage Pest Management action plans.

* Monitoring of cleaning supplies to ensure quality, safety and cost effectiveness.

* Communicating with other departments to prioritize the sanitation schedule.

* Maintain plant appearance and achieve standards that exceed regulatory requirements (being "tour ready" at all times)

* Respond to and be the main contact for all Sanitation process and personnel matters.

* Proactively coordinate the gathering and preparation of cleaning and sanitizing agents, ensuring minimal downtime during production transitions.

Ensuring ongoing effectiveness and organizational success by:

* Supervising timely dismantling, sanitization, and set up of equipment.

* Maintaining the highest safety standards in the use of cleaning agents and sanitizers.

* Manages vendor relations and compliance for sanitation chemicals and supplies.

* Participating in monthly internal plant audits.

* Confers with management and production personnel on sanitation, quality and HACCP issues, and recommend changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and purity of products.

* Leads all action that involves or encompasses third party food safety agencies

Ensuring the development of sanitation and plant personnel by:

* Managing sanitation staff training of safety requirements and new/current chemical training.

* Managing on-boarding of new chemicals as it relates to training all affected operations personnel.

* Participate in the selection of staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies, implement discipline procedures.

* Provide timely, accurate, and thorough Performance Reviews for supervised employees.

* Listens to concerns of sanitation employees and communicates information to upper management.

* Acts in a fair and consistent manner to maintain sanitation team member moral and motivation.

* Encourages the achievement of departmental and company goals through team member involvement. Recognizes exceptional efforts by coaching and counseling as needed.

* Supervisory responsibilities include: training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Oversight of and performance according to the established safety and GMP practices that are set in place by Nature's Path Foods by:

* Abiding by all rules and safety regulations as set forth by Nature Path Foods.

* Maintaining a safe work environment for the team and making the appropriate Manager aware of any equipment or personnel safety issues.

* Ensuring adherence of all aspects of the Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) program.

* Knowing where the MSDS is located and how to read them.

Education



  • High school diploma.


Experience



  • 5 years of experience with expertise in HACCP, GMPs, SOPs and regulatory food requirements.
  • Prior supervisory and scheduling experience preferred.
  • Previous exposure to allergen clean ups.
  • Sanitation exposure in food industry (organic preferred)
  • Knowledge of environmental swabbing practices and procedures.
  • Able to motivate and coordinate 10+ people in a 24/7 operation during cleaning cycles.


This role is a full time position with great benefits and is 5X a week at our Blaine WA manufacturing plant. We are offering a base salary between $75 - $85k with a 10% bonus and three weeks paid vacation.
