Location: Remote

*After completion
of the internship, the work location will be in Elk Grove Village, IL

Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Overview:

The Mechanical
Engineering Intern - Customer Support
is responsible for maintaining
regular communication with key customers, providing sales updates, conducting
data analysis, and addressing customer inquiries to ensure customer
satisfaction and drive business growth.

As this role
evolves into an R&D Associate, the successful candidate will have the
opportunity to apply their technical skills and knowledge to the design and
development of innovative pneumatic solutions for various industries, including
factory automation and semiconductor manufacturing, after the graduation and
completion of the internship.

This internship offers a
valuable opportunity to gain practical hands-on experience in customer
relationship management, sales support, and market research in a global
engineering environment.

Essential
Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Maintain
    regular communication with assigned key customers, including regular phone
    calls, emails, and in-person meetings.
  • Provide
    weekly sales status updates based on data.
  • Collect
    and maintain accurate end-user information, including names, status, and
    application of pneumatic items.
  • Address
    and resolve customer inquiries and requests related to the company's
    products and services in a timely and professional manner.
  • Organize
    and conduct monthly meetings with existing key customers.


  • Develop
    and deliver comprehensive monthly reports on the key customers.
  • Conduct
    market research and analysis to identify potential opportunities and
    challenges.
  • Monitor
    industry trends and competitive activities to inform strategic
    decision-making.
  • Other
    duties as assigned



Qualifications:



  • Pursuing
    a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Excellent
    communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational
    and time management skills.
  • Proficiency
    in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated
    understanding of basic engineering principles.



As this role
evolves into an R&D Associate after graduation and completion of the
internship, the ideal candidates have/ are:



  • Keen interest in applying
    engineering principles to the design and development of pneumatic
    solutions.
  • Eager to gain practical experience in
    research and development, sales, and manufacturing within the pneumatics
    industry.



Preferred
Qualifications:



  • Bilingual
    Japanese skills a plus
  • Proficiency
    in CAD software and engineering analysis tools.
  • Strong
    technical writing and communication skills.
