Your Role on the Team

The Clinical Research and Billing Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the financial management of the Stem Cell Research Center. The incumbent will assist the Finance and Administration Supervisor in the management of clinical trial accounts, conducting independent analysis of data and maintaining data integrity across all institutional systems.

Duties include:

  • general ledger entry and audit, data maintenance, data analysis as well as post-award management including account reconciliation, invoicing sponsors, and recharge billing.
  • Processes basic / routine financial transactions for review or approval by the Research Administrator and/or Director of Clinical Operations.
  • Reconciles, researches, and resolves discrepancies in financial data systems such as Encore, EMS, Epic, KFS, and internal Clinical Trials Billing database.
  • Performs basic preparation and summarization of information and reports relative to clinical trials and support activities.
  • Monitors workflow and productivity in areas such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, recharge billing, travel/ entertainment, gift accounting, collections and / or cashiering.
  • Assists with post award management including but not limited to reviewing and reconciling hospital bills, sponsor invoicing, recharge billing, and payment tracking.

Pay Rate: $30.56/hr

Required:

  • Working knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
  • Ability to gather reasonably retrievable information to organize, and perform basic financial analysis assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated ability using spreadsheet and database software for moderately complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills at all levels within the unit; excellent service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to function as a member of a team.
  • Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • 1-2 years Relevant Experience
  • Dress code: Casual/ Business - casual (No open toed shoes, dark jeans are acceptable)

  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.
  • 100% onsite position, M-F 8-5pm

TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT

This is a temporary employment recruitment reporting to the UCI Temporary Employment Services (TES) Department. Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate's experience matches the assignment requirements.Certaintemporary assignments may require clearance of a health physical or require a valid California Driver's License for driving university vehicles.

The majority of our temporary positions are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. We also have occasional part-time, weekend, and evening hours available, depending on the assignment.
