Dr. Bryce Chiang's laboratory (Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University) is hiring a highly motivated and proficient Sr. Research Specialist with a sophisticated understanding of techniques and a solid foundation in the underlying science, gained from experience with a background in ocular biomechanics and/or drug delivery, to conduct scientific research independently, manage their own scientific projects, and/or support the projects of other lab members. The Sr. Research Specialist will develop, design and manage substantial research projects; make intellectual contribution to scientific research interests of the lab; and in collaboration with PI, make research project decisions that may alter research objectives and direction. Organizational skills and attention to detail are essential. The candidate will also contribute to data reporting in the form of co-authorship on conference presentations and published research manuscripts. Our laboratory is interested in developing new strategies and applications for targeted ocular drug delivery. Specifically, we are developing targeted drug delivery systems and testing the role of modulating ocular biomechanics as a novel treatment strategy in glaucoma and other optic neuropathies.
