General Summary of Position

Medstar Maternal Fetal Medicine is seeking a sonographer as we expand our office in Brandywine MD. This position performs under routine supervision of the Maternal Fetal Medicine physician, providing detailed fetal anatomy surveys, growths, biophysical profiles, doppler studies, cervical length screenings, amniocentesis, and CVS procedures.

TheUltrasound Technologist performs, under routine supervision, Ob/Gyn sonograms, biophysical profiles, non-stress tests and AFI's.Assistswith amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling procedures.

Primary Duties:

  • Independently performs sonographic evaluations of fetal morphology, age, growth assessment, and color doppler studies. Performs ultrasound examsutilizingdifferent scanning modalities as required by thepatient'scondition and/or examinationrequested.

  • Evaluates images for quality. Photographsappropriate imagesutilizing multiformat cameras. May access, manipulate,store,and print M.I. digital images. Reviews processed images with physicians.

  • Enters data to generate sonographic report.Works with physicians, nursing staff and schedulers to ensure patients are seen promptly.

  • Mayassistin training and education of patients, employees, physicians,studentsand/or other healthcare professionals.

  • Cleans and sterilizes equipment and procedure table before and after each procedure. Mayberesponsible fororassistin control inventory andpurchasingof supplies for assigned area.

  • Performs ultrasound exams and protocols as required by the patient condition and/or exam requested.

  • Assists in maintenance of the departments AIUM accreditation.

  • Optimizes and evaluates images for quality.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or Graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Ultrasound.

  • 1-2 years in Maternal Fetal Medicine specialty preferred

  • RDMS registry in OB/GYN (FE registry a plus but not required), NT certification within 1 year

This position has a hiring range of $34.98 - $62.52
