POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Position Overview

TheMaritime Patrol (MP) Aircraft Engineer (P-3/DHC-8) is responsible for assisting the Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul (MRO) and Technical Services departments in the documentation and creation of structural design data suitable for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) engineering substantiation.

This opportunity is for a POTENTIAL CONTRACT award and is contingent upon the contract being awarded. Consideration for a potential contract may require a signed letter of intent. If the contract is awarded, another position posting will be available on the Company Careers portal.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)



  • Develop and complete engineering drawings documenting airframe structural modifications, installations, and repairs.
  • Research and review engineering data (drawings, reports, manuals, etc.) defining aircraft structure or systems to determine the most efficient method of modification or alteration.
  • Expert utilization of aircraft design concepts, industry design standards, FARs, and drafting techniques consistent with department workload.
  • Expert utilization of repair and fabrication practices, aviation hardware, and general aircraft maintenance and modification operations.
  • Collaborate with engineers and shop supervisors to develop and/or document mechanical design data.
  • Coordinate with Technical Services personnel to obtain substantiation of engineering data.
  • Coordinate with Inspection Department and FAA representatives to ensure FAA compliance of engineering data.
  • Generate Engineering Change Orders and implement Drawing updates in accordance with Configuration Control Procedures.
  • Collaborate with repair station personnel in interpretation of engineering data.
  • Conduct supplier audits.
  • Author technical manuals, proposals and training material.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must be able to hold and maintain a Secret/CBP BI (or higher) Clearance Level.
  • Must be able to obtain Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) and Parts Manufacturing Authority (PMA).
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must have good command of the English language, oral and written.
  • Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management.
  • Must be committed to company values.
  • Must have knowledge and/or ability to assist in load and stress calculations.
  • Must be able to interpret and generate technical data.
  • Expertise in antenna placement and design.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar field.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suites; AutoCAD / SolidWorks.
  • Must be able to accomplish any and all duties with little or no assistance.


Preferred Qualifications or Skills



  • Experience with structural drafting; aviation industry; and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Compliant Standards.
  • Advanced skills in SolidWorks.
